I’m presenting at this year’s Metalwerx Virtual Spring Symposium. This is a five-day, online educational summit for all metalsmiths, jewelers, artists, and makers. Tune into live demonstrations, presentations, and studio tours with artists from around North America. No matter where you are, the Metalwerx Spring Symposium is a place to learn new skills, be inspired, win a new tool in one of the live giveaways, and meet other makers in online social events. Registration includes access to everything: all artist presentations, all social events, recordings, live giveaways, and a resource guide. Metalwerx, with support from Rio Grande, have scholarships to attend and are using live closed captioning. Educators and students are eligible for a 50% discount.
From 4pm-5pm EST on Thursday, I’ll be showing off my studio, giving an artist talk and demonstrating my method of applying paint to metal to achieve the layered, distressed look I use in my Promise & Ruin jewelry. There will be a Q&A at the end. I’m joining some makers that I truly adore, including Margo Csipo and Kim Nogueira.
There are 10 presenters total, each giving 60-90 minute presentations at different times throughout the week. All presentations are recorded and available to attendees to watch online until August 1. There will also be 3 virtual social events. I’ll be attending the closing party on Friday night - come hang out virtually with me.
