The outbreak of novel coronavirus has changed all my current plans to exhibit in 2020. I am fortunate to be working with great curators and facilitators, meaning nothing has been cancelled, only postponed or restructured.
The Growth and Evolution International Jewellery Exhibition in China was restricted to a private audience. The exhibition has had additional dates and venues added to its schedule. The next one will be Beijing Design Week, September 2020.
Due to the cancelation of Schmuck in Munich, the exhibition, Polemos_War, at Galerie Weltraum, has been postponed to November. I will post more about the new exhibition details closer to this time.
April was also going to be the month I presented a thesis exhibition as the qualifying outcome of my MFA at Virginia Commonwealth University. The University has had to suspend all on-campus activity and thus cancel all exhibitions. I will be finishing my MFA from home, focussing on research and writing. Opportunity to exhibit the studio content of my MFA will come later this year, when Covid19 is no longer a threat to public health and wellbeing and access to the VCU studios is reinstated. I am incredibly excited about my thesis exhibition so I was initially sad that it had to be postponed. However, I am so grateful to be part of an academic community that has advocated for its graduate students, ensuring that we will graduate on time AND have an opportunity to share our hard work in exhibition form as soon as it is safe to do so. Details on that exhibition to come as the Covid19 pandemic unfolds.
Above is another piece from the forthcoming exhibtion, Polemos_War, that can be seen in Munich at Galerie Weltraum in November.
